Exploring Spinel

Went to clean up some older work that's been hanging out in my folders, and I found this exploration sketch page I did when Steven Universe the Movie first aired.
Spinel is a character whose design took the internet by storm, and I was no exception. I found myself having a great deal of fun playing with the proportions and the rubber hose style, figuring out how much I could skew things and when a skew started to break rather than enhance. One of these doodles caught my eye, and I went through the effort of fully coloring and partially rendering this neat piece of Spinel writing her name out with her own rubbery limbs.

Not bad for breaking in a new computer.
