Spirit of Rot

You ever idly go looking through old sketchbooks and find unfinished projects from four years ago that have you wondering "Whyever didn't I finish this?"
That's this piece right here.

Story starts with SyFY's FaceOff episode "Twisted Trees", me getting annoyed at the judges for dismissing the idea of using a tree's roots and trunk rather than the standard boughs and leaves, and ends with a dryad composed of a rotting spruce tree and the remains of a body that had been secreted into its trunk to hide the evidence of a murder.

Incredibly fun, and I'm very glad that I was able to find and finish this piece.
